David Lantz joined Scania Southeast Asia in 2016, with a focus on sustainability. Since then, he has been actively involved in driving the shift towards a more sustainable transport system. In April 2022, David was appointed as the Director of Driving the Shift at Scania Southeast Asia. In this role, he spearheads efforts to develop partnerships and introduce Battery Electric and renewable fuelled vehicles to Southeast Asia, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector.
During his tenure at Scania Southeast Asia, David has been instrumental in exploring renewable fuel projects in collaboration with transporters, transport buyers, fuel producers, and government agencies in Malaysia. He has also achieved a significant milestone by successfully introducing battery electric trucks to Singapore, making them the first of their kind in Asia.
Before joining Scania, David worked for Business Sweden, the Swedish Trade and Invest Council. As a Project Manager and Commercial Liaison to the Asian Development Bank, he played a key role in sharing the collective experiences of the Swedish Transportation industry with growing cities in Southeast Asia.
